Piero Mirio Scherer (born in Lucerne, lives and works in Zurich) is a composer, musician, and sound artist. Starting out as a DJ, he has developed a multifaceted body of work that moves between solo practice and collaboration, club culture and art spaces.

His projects have taken him from improvised off-locations to concert halls, clubs, and festivals, including Heart of Noise Festival (AT), ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe (DE), and Zurich’s Backslash and Rhizom festivals.

Working across experimental music, film and theatre composition, and sound installation, his practice centers on processes of transformation — how sound shifts, folds, and alters spaces and modes of listening. He often works with existing material: found sounds and found objects that are continuously reframed, re-contextualized, and pushed into new constellations.

His sound installations have been shown at venues such as the Contemporary Culture Lab in Taipei and Kunstraum Toxi in Zurich. In 2024, he composed film scores for Bios Beneath Blind (dir. Kim Allamand) and Fixation (Moving Image NYC).

He holds a Master’s degree in Electroacoustic Composition from the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). Alongside his artistic practice, he co-founded the guerrilla concert series Doxa Shroti and the community studio CB-Lab at Zurich’s Rote Fabrik, focusing on shared knowledge, accessible infrastructures, and collaborative formats.
